Having recently won the Scottish Universities Women’s Indoor title, Kinross Ladies were delighted to win a second title at the Cricket Scotland National Women’s Indoor Tournament held at Bells Sports Centre, Perth on Sunday 18th April. Kinross Ladies were clearly determined to continue their success as they faced teams from East & West of Scotland, a combined SportCentral, Angus and Borders, team as well as St Andrews University.

2010 is only the third competitive season for Kinross Ladies with every player starting from scratch with no previous cricket experience. The club fielded two teams in the competition, a women’s team and an under-15 team and the hard work put in by coaches and players throughout our winter training has clearly paid dividends with some outstanding fielding, accurate bowling and strong batting. The future for girls and women’s cricket in Kinross looks very bright. Weekly outdoor training starts on Thursday 22nd April at Kinross House from 6.30pm to 8pm and new members, aged 12+, will be made very welcome. Please email secretary@kinrosscc.co.uk if you require any further information.

The winning team was (left to right) Laura Walker, Wendy Conway, Kirsteen Ross, Stephanie Crolla, Anita Collins, Elaine McCreanor, Lauren Megginson and Fiona Mowbray
